If you are ever looking for something you can keep lying around and just pick up and read when you need a shot of motivation, On the Shortness of Life by Seneca would be a great choice. If not, then this little gem of a quote is a nice start.
If you listen to any interviews with great people in any arena, something you never hear is, “Yeah, I just woke up one day and decided, hey I’m going to be the #1 ranked (insert occupation here) in the world.”.
Paul McBeth, Ken Climo, Barry Schultz, Will Shusterick, Ricky Wysocki, Simon Lizotte, the list goes on. While all of these people were blessed with a higher aptitude for disc golf than most of us, none of them got where they are on that aptitude alone. They all worked their asses off. They all sacrificed to get where they are.

The easy roads in life lead to mediocrity. I’m not sure about you, but if I’m going to do something I’m NOT going to be mediocre at it. I’ll just not do it in the first place. The problem with that attitude is that it will leave you on many a difficult road.
Just remember. When you find yourself challenged and questioning your choices, you are here because you chose a path that leads to great things. That path is hard sometimes. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t be going where you want in the first place.
