I've put rollers on the shelf for now. No reason to spend time on them until my short game is dialed in a lot better than it is now. It's definitely in the long term plans.

The knee putting is a good idea! I'm going to try that next time I get some practice putting time in the wind.

One other thing I was thinking as I glanced back over your post is that you have to be super duper careful with rollers in the wind. Anything more than 10mph tends to make rollers do things you don't want. That's not to say you shouldn't spend some time on them though. I only just learned backhand rollers this year (shout out to the roadrunner) and it definitely has saved me some strokes.

Wow, great advice, thank you!

My theme this year is deep, not wide. I think that adding a spin putt goes directly against that. Standard and straddle are where I think I'm going to stay.

I've also found that putting from my knees is a great way to overcome wind and low ceilings without having to add the spin putt.

Thanks for reading and taking the time to give a thoughtful reply, I really appreciate that!

Another good post. In regards to the spin putting I would say that trying to learn two different styles of putting may be a bit much. No doubt push putting in the wind is harder than spin putting, but I think you'd be better off learning how YOUR putt performs in the wind and honing it rather than trying to learn a whole new putt. If you can be confident in the wind you are going to have a great leg up for the GBO.

You may have mentioned it in another post and I overlooked it, but preparing a plan for the courses you play during a tournament is huge. You should know every shot you plan to throw off of the tee and be confident in it.
