This is a great article! I love your perspective on the mindset side of Disc Golf. It's true that we enable ourselves to be in these various pressure situations. How we then deal with it when we get there is all about our state of mind and how we chose to show up for ourselves in those moments of excellence!

In reply to <a href="https://mindbodydisc.com/disc-golf-under-pressure/#comment-1565">Matthew Simpson</a>.

I always think it's very "kung fu", but for many people, they do not start to consistently score well until they stop caring about scoring well. Having something else to focus on like learning a new course, learning a new disc, hitting certain lines, etc. all help take the focus off of score. That reduces or even eliminates the stress and pressure. Sound like there are more one disc rounds in your future!

One thing about pressure I've noticed is that you can place a lot on yourself needlessly. Unless you're in a tournament situation, or match play, keep it light and airy. And during tourney prep or practice rounds, I've noticed that many of the top pros just laugh and say "Oh well" if their disc doesn't hit the line they were trying to hit, but make sure to hit it the next go round. My one disc round the other day, I didn't care what I scored, so there wasn't any pressure to score well. It might have been different were I on a course I knew well, and was trying to improve my game on that particular course.
