I can relate to you putter situation. The hardest thing for me to do was to go down to one putter. In the end, though, I've learned a ton with just that one putter and don't find myself missing the others near as much any more.

I currently carry 12 in a backpack bag but often go out with a Fannie pack with 4 to 7 discs. For me the hardest thing to remove from bag is putters. I carry a driving putter for straight shots (pure) an over stable for big hizzer and approach shots (harp) and the putting putter that is slow and straight (warden) when I carry the small bag I still carry 3 putters. Lately I have had a megasoft pure in big bag as well for situational sit down approaches, that I need to not roll away. I live in Colorado and the role outs at some of the mountain courses are very cruel. Playing the small bag with severe elevation changes is also hard because steep uphill shots work better with under stable discs. Etc. Even with 12 discs i try not to have more than one disc that does the same job. So I carry under stable, stable, and over stable discs at speed 13(distance), 9(fairway), and 5(mid). I also try to find similar feeling discs from same manufacturer so changing disc selection for shot feels more natural.

Jason, I LOVE Philo's bag. I think he is spot on and you have definitely picked a solid person to emulate! I also really like that you have a couple additions for windy days that don't permanently live in the bag. That will be the topic of an upcoming post for sure! Glad to hear this process is showing results for you.

As I read this post I couldn't help but think of Philo Brathwaite's in the bag video. Probably the most minimal in the bag of any pro I've seen. Destroyers, TeeBird's, Roc's and Aviars. That's it. After watching that I cut my bag down to Tresspasses, Saint Pros, Claymores and Judges. I have a Felon and Justice I keep on hand for extra windy days, but this sums up my bag and it has been working great.

So if you had to take a couple of those out, which would they be? Why not try that?

I agree Conor. You could do a whole lot with just those three!

Because I don't have the 'arm' of a lot of players the difference between maximum distance and fairway drivers for me isn't that much so I tend to play accuracy vs. distance. Here is what I use primarily, in order of stability....
Nuke OS, Nuke, Tesla, Sorcerer, XS (EliteX), Katana, Comet, Virus, Wolf and Rhyno/Sonic putters. I also Cary an Ape because it floats (just in case). I admit I carry a few more, but only because of my propensity to lose discs LOL

I love the idea of a three disc bag. I could get by at almost any course with:
S-line P2
C-line FD
C-line PD

I have started to do this a few weeks ago at league. I leave the backpack at home and load up the nutsack and see what I can get done.

Here is what I have right now: Giant, Surge SS, Thief, Justice, Warrent, Truth, Shield

My scores went up the last two weeks of league...but tonight, I think tonight they start to go back down.
